Founded in 1954, the Greater Montréal Real Estate Board is a non-profit organization that brings together most of the real estate brokers and agents who work in the Greater Montréal area. With more than 9,000 members, it is the third largest board in Canada.
Its mission is to actively promote and protect its members' professional and business interests in order for them to successfully meet their business objectives.
The GMREB also plays a major role representing its members in relations with government authorities, the media, the public and various industry related associations. It also regularly issues press releases on market monthly statistics and other real estate-related topics as well as an analysis of the resale market produced jointly with the CMHC.
Because only GMREB members have the power of the S.I.A.®/MLS®, a database that is a lot more powerful than the website www.mls.ca and that contains tens of thousands of listings.
